We've had a busy month, and it's only July 17th! Thank you to all who attended the Chinooks game and the 25th Anniversary of Rotary Park. From the smiles and thanks we received, you had a good time celebrating the warmth of summer, Rotary Park, and just being with our Rotary family. Kudos to Pam Koch and her committee for organizing the display of photos, the buffet, and the adult beverages. We never know exactly how much time and energy it takes behind the scenes. Just ask Sandy Custer and Dan Gannon how much muscle it took to pound those stakes into the hard, dry clay of Rotary Park!

Thank you for your patience as I get used to my leadership role. If only I could figure out how photos online are completely lined up, but they shift positions as I insert them into the newsletter! Your patience is appreciated.

We need to turn our attention to Fall into Comedy (our only fundraiser) and increasing our membership. Be ready to add your talents and say "yes" when organizers approach you to help with an event.

Julie Craig makes a point as she uses anecdotes from her personal past to illustrate the spirit of Rotary. She shared what it was like being a Mom to an exchange student from Japan and how she grew as an individual through Rotary.

It seems like just yesterday that Malu traveled from Brazil to begin her one year stay as a Rotary Exchange Student in the Thiensville-Mequon community. She brightened the lives of three families, made many new friends at Homestead, and tried new experiences, like skiing. Although she is sad to leave, she is ready to return to her home country with a blazer so covered in pins she may not make it through airport security. Malu, we enjoyed having you here, and we hope you will return for another visit. Tenha uma viagem segura! (Have a safe trip.)
