"Response to the 25th Anniversary of Rotary Park has been good", reports Past President Pam Koch, "but we still have room for more! Rotary Park is a jewel in the Mequon community. Help us celebrate this silver anniversary! " Pam will have tickets and parking passes available at the July 12th meeting at Rotary Park.
The $25 per person fee includes admittance to Gathering on the Green on July 16th, parking pass, and a menu of: pulled pork, turkey & gravy, assorted rolls, veggies, fruit tray, chips, cookies, and assorted beverages. T-M Rotary has two tents with chairs at the top of the hill, next to the main entrance, guaranteeing an excellent view. Kids from Wisconsin start at 5:30 p.m. and the Starliner Bank with Jenny Thiel start at 7:45 p.m. Musical fireworks round out an evening of wonderful entertainment.
Stan Smith awards John Rosing the Service Above Self award at the July 5th meeting of the club. In spite of travelling nearly every week for work, John organized community volunteers to rehab the inside and paint the outside of the Hoerchner farmstead, allowing the elderly matriarch to continue to live in the home in which she was born. This summer John added an above ground garden to Meta's delight. Congratulations, John!
Fun, Food, and a Fantastic Summer Evening at the Ballpark
We should never leave early! The Chinooks were winning 9-1 at the end of the 7th inning.
Then it went downhill and they lost 10-9.
Baseball is a family affair for the Huffman family. Gregg, his two sons, his daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren enjoyed the Chinooks outing at Concordia.
Rotarians enjoyed a perfect summer evening; lots of burgers, brats, beverages, and burgers; and plenty of fellowship on the Leinenkugel deck at Concordia.
Sandy Custer and Tim Carr congratulate Andy Locke. Andy's daughter sang the Star Spangled Banner to open the game. She was excellent!

T-M Rotary welcomed Andrew Sandler, the new EMS Coordinator for Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital. He was a combat and flight medic in the Army which involved a tour in Iraq.
In his new role, he is responsible for the implementation of the new EMD dispatch system that went live with Cedarburg and Mequon on June 21st of this year. With the new system in place, the dispatcher can provide assistance over the phone, giving directions to the caller to start CPR in the case of a heart attack, while at the same time dispatching proper emergency personnel . Software will track where landline calls originate.
