Summer is winding down, and soon the yellow school buses will indicate that school has begun. However, our Rotary program is kicking into high gear after a busy summer of celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Rotary Park, a Chinooks outing, and a successful family night with almost 70 adults and children.
We have a number of committees calling out for your participation. For example, the Fundraising Committee has been meeting all summer, developing plans for Fall into Comedy on October 13th. Since that is our only fundraiser, every club member needs to assist either by buying a table, selling tickets to family and friends, or donating a service or item to the silent auction. You can help that evening by collecting money, selling raffle tickets, helping to distribute silent auction buys, or helping in clean up. We need everyone to pitch in.
Beyond the fundraiser, we have committees on international service, vocational youth service, community service, speaker program, club service/membership, Rotary International Foundation, new project, and club marketing. The sign-up sheet will be at the meeting this Tuesday. Be sure to indicate what part you will play in making this a successful year for the Thiensville-Mequon Rotary Club.
Remember way last spring when I asked the club for input on goals for this year? We set a high bar on membership; now we need to get our ask in gear in order to meet the goals we set!
Cristina Sancen-RYE 2002-03 was married on August 13th in Mexico. She is pictured here with her parents, her new husband, and Brian Monroe and his wife, one of her host families when she was here in Mequon. She has a wonderful position with Nissan. Best wishes to the happy couple!
