We begin our Rotary year with a city update from Andy Nerbun, our club member and Mequon's 12th mayor.
Andrew Nerbun was elected as mayor in April 2022. He previously served as the Alderman for District 7 (April 2012 to March 2017) and Alderman for District 8 (April 2017 to April 2022). During that time, Andrew served on the Public Safety Committee and Public Works Committee. Additionally, Andrew has been a Den Leader and Pinewood Derby Chair for Boy Scout Pack 3865, helped coach various youth sports groups and participated in the Mequon Community Conversation Task Force.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.

One of the ways we'll bring these goals to life is through a new community outreach series called Rotary on the Road. Throughout the year, we'll host three community-wide events, inviting neighboring Rotary clubs and members of the public to experience who we are, what we do, and the impact Rotary has in our community.

Our major club project, the Mequon Rotary Park Playground, is at a pivotal point. After a long journey led by a core group of Rotarians to get us to this point, fundraising has reached the point where it will be moving into the public facing community campaign. To fulfill our commitments and help ease the burden on our fellow club members, we truly need everyone to help.
First - Start by marking your calendar for August 15th to help with the Party for the Playground at Rotary Park to raise awareness and support for the playground. Please sign up for a volunteer shift here: Party for the PLAYGROUND!: Party for the PLAYGROUND!
Second - Help spread the word about the August 15th party. Admission is free and there will be great music (a Beatles Tribute band and KPop Demon Hunters DJ party for the kids), food trucks, a beer garden, inflatables for the kids, and more. Fourth - If you want a Playground T-shirt for volunteering or wearing around town, tell Maureen or email her at maureenog.rotary@gmail.com before the end of July. They are $25 per shirt (cash preferred).
