Breaking News -- Trivia Night Postponed until May

The long-awaited Trivia Night has been postponed until sometime in May.

That gives everyone a few more days to bone up on all that general knowledge floating out there in the universe.  It will be a fun evening of light appetizers, cash bar, and the opportunity to take home the prize for being the smartest person in the room.

Bruce Rowe will provide us with the details as soon as they are nailed down.

Welcome to Another Paul Harris Fellow

How fitting that just a few days prior to Paul Harris' birthday, T-M Rotary welcomed another Paul Harris Fellow into the fold.  Greg Sommersberger received his first PHF from President MacFarlane on Tuesday, April 18th. In the photos below, Greg receives a certificate from Rotary International designating him as a Paul Harris Fellow for his contributions to The Rotary Foundation and a PHF pin. Congratulations, Greg!

Every 10 Minutes, 498 Americans Become Disabled

Kurt Barikmo, Business Services Consultant in the Department of Workforce Development-Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, makes a point during his presentation last Tuesday.  Barikmo serves as a point of contact for employers in the Milwaukee Seven County Region providing information regarding DWD-DVR Services, Fidelity Bonding, the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and various grant opportunities available for Wisconsin employers.

Employment in Wisconsin is 5.2% higher than the national average.  Persons with disabilities comprise 20% of the population. Twenty million families have at least one member with a disability.  Most important, people with disabilities want to work and maintain their employment.  Barikmo outlined several programs that could be funded through the DWD-DVR, including relocation from another area or state, youth on-the-job training, internships, Fidelity Bonding, and Work Opportunity Tax Credits.
